The village of Barrington

Barrington is a Parish and village on the river Rhea or Cam 7 miles south-west from Cambridge and about the same distance north-west from Royston. It is easily accessible from London, 45 minutes drive North on the M11, and by train, Kings Cross to Royston or Cambridge takes 45-60 minutes. It is a quintessentially English village with numerous thatched cottages and timber framed buildings dotted around the 30 acre village green, which is over half a mile long and supposedly the longest village green in England. The village boasts a thatched pub built in the 1400s with a superb reputation for food and beer.

According to the 2001 census it had a population of 904. The village church, All Saints, dates from the 13th century and is built almost entirely from stone.
